Ship/Boat Superintendent

CACI is seeking a Ship/Boat Superintendent who can design, develop, and analyze new ships and/or ship systems, as well as maintain and modernize existing ships and systems. This position will support our Navy customers in the Washington DC area.

What Youll Get to Do:
Act as primary point of contact with the customer.
As customers representative, supervise and monitor day-to-day ship repair activities being conducted by shipyard personnel and vendors at designated work facilities.
Provide project/engineering liaison and problem tracking and resolution management support at shipyard and at designated work facilities for customer.
Ensure work specifications are being executed properly and documented in accordance with contractual requirements.
Actively write and/or maintain work specifications and contractual documentation.
Coordinate delivery and installation of customer furnished shipboard equipment and systems at shipyard and at designated work facilities.
Provide oral and/or written reports detailing updates and/or progress of shipyard and work-related activities.
Conduct technical research and reports findings.
Monitor and assess testing conducted by shipyard personnel and vendors at designated work facilities.
Attend technical/program management meetings and generate meeting minutes, if necessary, at shipyard and designated work facilities.

Youll Bring These Qualifications:
Ability to obtain an active DOD Secret Security Clearance.
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and/or marine engineering or related field, with 5+ years of experience in ship design and repair, and marine or ocean engineering.
Experience with MS Office Suite applications (MS Word and MS PowerPoint).
CAD experience.
Experience working with shipboard repair and/or maintenance of hull, mechanical, and electrical systems.
Experience working with ship and ship system design principles and practices.
Experience working with applicable regulatory, commercial, and military standards and classification society rules.
U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Marine engineering license.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) desirable.
Experience working with shipboard or related automation/engineering control systems including programmable logic controls and network system interfaces.
Familiarity with commercial electronic navigational aids.
